Skip Ewing’s Horse & Writer Invitational tuition is $2500. Scholarships for the entire amount of tuition will be extended to all writers who are invited and attend! Tuition scholarships cover all mentorship, instruction, food, horseback riding activities, and lodging at the ranch. (You’ll need to make your own travel arrangements. Scholarships do not provide for or include transportation to or from the Horse & Writer Invitational location.)

Please Note! Horse & Writer Invitational is not a song contest. It is an unprecedented mentorship program into which you may have the opportunity of being accepted having been evaluated as a songwriter based on two or more of your songs and a short questionnaire. (The questionnaire will be provided for you in your application paperwork). This year, 2009, You may only apply once. However, You have the option of applying with more than the minimum two songs. Our staff will evaluate each writer by listening to ALL of the songs submitted in each writer’s application package.

Nearly 75% of the writers who took our writer’s survey told us that they would prefer the Horse & Writer staff hear at least three songs in order to evaluate them as a writer. Every member on the Horse & Writer staff agrees that such an evaluation is better made having listened to more material. However, we also want the opportunity to be afforded as many deserving writers as possible. Hence, there is an option to apply with only two songs.

Each application package must include a fully completed copy of all necessary application forms, including the writer’s questionnaire, 1 CD, on which all of the songs and only those songs you’re submitting appear, a typed lyric sheet for each song (on plain white paper), and an amount corresponding to the appropriate application fee based on the number of songs you’re submitting. Applications may be rejected without the proper submission requirements.  Please refer to the Horse & Writer Invitational official rules and application form for complete details on how to submit your application. Submission pricing is as follows:

★$150 for three songs

★$45/song thereafter.

★($115 for two songs minimum)

Applicable fees should be made payable to: “Horse & Writer” by check, money order, credit card, debit card, or PayPal account receipt. (For PayPal payments, please see below.)

If You choose to pay with PayPal, you need only enclose a copy of your PayPal receipt in your registration package.
